Die Autoren, die sich auf Erfahrungen mit verschiedenen renovasographischen Untersuchungsmethoden bei 295 Patienten stützen, schlagen eine von ihnen ausgearbeitete Reihenfolge dieser Methoden zur Untersuchung von Patienten mit Nierentumor, chronischer Pyelonephritis, Hydronephrose und Nephroptose vor. Jede vasographische Nierenuntersuchung sollte mit der abdominalen Aortographie beginnen und wenn es notwendig sein sollte von der selektiven Nierenarteriographie, der Venokavographie, der selektiven Nierenphlebographie und der selektiven Arteriographie mit der Adrenalinprobe ergänzt werden. Auf die Gefährlichkeit der doppelseitigen selektiven Nierenarteriographie wird hingewiesen. Die rationell ausgewählte Reihenfolge vergrössert die diagnostischen Möglíchkeiten jeder Methode im einzelnen und verringert somit die Fehlerquote.
