In the article “Human Leucocyte Antigen Sensitisation and Its Impact on Transfusion Practice” [Transfus Med Hemother. 2019;46(5):356–369. https://doi.org/10.1159/000502158] by Weinstock et al., the authors found that the antigen Bgb was incorrectly associated with HLA-B18 instead of HLA-B17. HLA-B17 is part of the cross-reacting group 5C.

On page 362 in the paragraph “HLA Expression on Red Cells” the sentence “Bga correlated with the presence of HLA-B7 on the red cells, Bgb with HLA-B18, and Bgc with HLA-A28 (Table 1)” should read as follows: “Bga correlated with the presence of HLA-B7 on the red cells, Bgb with HLA-B17, and Bgc with HLA-A28 (Table 1).”
