25 Patienten, die sich kieferchirurgischen Operationen unterzogen, wurden postoperativ mit der bilanzierten Formuladiät Spontavix® ernährt. In 20 % der Fälle mußte die Ernährung mit Spontavix® wegen Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Durchfall und/oder abdominellen Schmerzen abgebrochen werden. Magenschmerzen hatten zwei Patienten, Diarrhöe trat bei einem Patienten auf, Übelkeit und Erbrechen traten bei drei Patienten auf, von denen einer weiter mit Spontavix® ernährt werden konnte. Die mittlere Stuhlhäufigkeit betrug 0,5/Tag/Patient. Körpergewicht, Hb, Hkt, Gesamteiweiß im Serum, Elektrolythaushalt, harnpflichtige Substanzen im Serum, alkalische Phosphatase, Cholesterin, Triglyzeride, Gesamtlipide im Serum, Blutgase und Säure-Basen-Haushalt ließen keine statistisch signifikanten Änderungen erkennen. Passagere signifikante Anstiege waren bei den Serumtransaminasen nachweisbar. Der Anstieg der Serumtransaminasen wird als Folge der Allgemeinnarkose interpretiert. Trotz der nichtsignifikanten Anstiege des Serumcholesterins und der Gesamtlipide im Serum wurde der Normbereich für beide nicht verlassen.
