Die autologe Knochenmarktransplantation (AKMT) ist sowohl bei Kindern als auch bei Erwachsenen ein Verfahren zur Behandlung maligner Erkrankungen mit wachsender Verbreitung. Theoretische Grundlage ist die Umsetzung des Dosis-Wir-kungs-Prinzips aus der pharmakologischen Theorie in den klinischen Alltag. Dargestellt werden die Grundprinzipien des Verfahrens, die wichtigsten Indikationen und die besonderen Probleme. Prinzipiell dient als Stammzellquelle aus den Beckenkämmen entnommenes Knochenmark. Erweitert werden die Möglichkeiten der autologen Transplantation durch den Einsatz peripherer Blutstammzellen (PBSC). Dieses Verfahren wird beschrieben und die Ergebnisse am Beispiel der Behandlung des Neuroblastoms dargestellt.
