Auf der Grundlage eines 15N-Stoffwechselmodells beim Schwein unter parenteraler Nahrungszufuhr über 72 h erhielten wir die Möglichkeit, ein umfangreiches Datenmaterial zur Interpretation des Stickstoffbzw. Proteinumsatzes zu gewinnen. Die Grundlagen der dann erforderlichen N- bzw. 15N-Analytik werden sowohl für Serum, Urin und Gewebe ausgewählter Organe als auch Hepatozyten beschrieben. Dieses 15N-Stoffwechselmodell erlaubt die Beurteilung der Verwertung parenteral zugeführter Aminosäurengemische. Durch die weitgehende Übereinstimmung wesentlicher Parameter des N- bzw. Protein-N-Umsatzes zwischen Mensch und Schwein sind klinikrelevante Aussagen zu parenteral zugeführten Aminosäurengemischen möglich.
