Abstract
Die erste Auflage von Samuel Hahnemanns theoretischem Hauptwerk erschien 1810 unter dem Titel «Organon der rationellen Heilkunde», der in den folgenden fünf überarbeiteten Auflagen in «Organon der Heilkunst» abgeändert wurde. Die Begründung, Entwicklung und Verteidigung der Homöopathie durch Hahnemann vollzog sich über einen Zeitraum von über 50 Jahren (1790–1842), der von Kontinuitäten wie auch von Diskontinuitäten der verwendeten Begriffe und Konzepte bestimmt war. Bezeichnend für Hahnemanns Verständnis von Medizin ist sein Abrücken vom Ideal einer rationalen Heilkunde zugunsten einer stärkeren Betonung der Heilkunst im Jahr 1819. Diese Position erweist sich heute als anschlussfähig an neuere Entwicklungen in der Medizintheorie.
