Die erfolgreiche medizinische und zahnÄrztliche Langzeitbetreuung des Älteren Menschen erfordert eine mehrdimensionale und somit multidisziplinÄre Erfassung des Alterns. Zahnarzt und Arzt sind deshalb gefordert, Über ihr spezifisches Fachgebiet hinaus das zur interdisziplinÄren Vernetzung notwendige medizinische Wissen sich anzueignen und einzusetzen. Die umfassende Kenntnis der gesundheitlichen Situation, der verordneten medizinischen Therapien und Medikamente sowie der sozialen Rahmenbedingungen des Patienten sind von grundlegender Bedeutung, um Wechselwirkungen zwischen oralen und systemischen Erkrankungen frÜhzeitig erkennen und behandeln zu kÖnnen.
