The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting was held in Chicago on 18–21 October and included subspecialty days on 18–19 October. Retina 2024 had twenty sections featuring a wide range of retinal diseases and treatments, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME).

Plaque Psoriasis and Hidradenitis Suppurativa Highlights – EADV Conference 2024
The EADV Congress 2024 which was held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, between the 25th and 28th of September 2024, covered an exciting range of topics in dermatology and venereology and attracted healthcare professionals and industry specialists. The topic of plaque psoriasis was featured in six sessions spanning 56 presentations and 346 ePosters, while hidradenitis suppurativa was covered in three sessions with 31 presentations and 108 ePosters.

What is Acute Myeloid Leukemia?
Acute myeloid leukemia, also known as AML, is a cancer of myeloid blood stem cells. ‘Myelo’ means bone marrow and ‘acute’ means that it develops quickly. Normal myeloid stem cells go on to develop into red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets that circulate in your blood. So, AML affects the production of all these blood cells.
