Die Sprachaudiometrie befmdet sich sowohl in technischer als auch in konzeptioneller Hinsicht im Umbruch. Die vorliegende Arbeit zeigt Tendenzen in der sprachaudiometrischen Entwicklung auf. Es werden wichtige Fragestellungen, wie zur Messung des Sprachschallpegels, zu systematischen Fehlern in der Sprachaudiometrie und zu adaptiven Teststrategien diskutiert. Allgemeine Forderungen an das Testmaterial und die Testverfahren werden aufgezeigt. Die modernen MÖglichkeiten der auditiven Rehabilitation erfordern eine differenzierte Diagnostik der individuellen HÖrstÖrung. Durch Sprachtests mit StÖrgerÄusch, wozu sich SÄtze als Testmaterial besonders eignen, kann die Behinderung eines Patienten in der sprachlich-auditiven Kommunikation realitÄtsbezogener erfasst werden. Eine weitere Verbesserung der Diagnostik, vor allem bei mittel- und hochgradig SchwerhÖrigen, ist durch die Entwicklung audiovisueller Tests zu erwarten.
