Als Einstieg stellen wir den Textanfang zur Verfügung. 1999 wurden die folgenden Leitlinien durch eine Konsensuskonferenz der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Hals-Nasen-Ohrenheilkunde, Kopf- und Halschirurgie erarbeitet und durch ein Delphi-Verfahren ergänzt. 2002 erfolgte die Aktualisierung durch die Mitglieder der Konsensuskonferenz, des Präsidiums der Arbeitsgemeinschaft HNO-Infektiologie der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Hals-Nasen-Ohren-Heilkunde, Kopf- und Halschirurgie und des Präsidiums der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Hals-Nasen-Ohren-Heilkunde, Kopf- und Halschirurgie. Die Leitlinien betreffen die Antibiotikatherapie der bakteriellen Infektionen an Hals, Nase und Ohren unter Berücksichtigung des zu erwartenden Erregerspektrums, der mikrobiologischen und klinischen Antibiotikawirksamkeit und der Wirtschaftlichkeit. Nach Hinweisen auf grundsätzliche Prinzipien werden die verschiedenen Infektionen mit den verursachenden Erregern und den zur Therapie in Frage kommenden Antibiotika in tabellarischer Form dargestellt (Tab. 1).
