Es wird über 4 Fälle mit chronischer Otitis media und erheblichem Abfall der Innenohrkomponente im Tonaudiogramm berichtet. Zwei Patienten hatten eine Cholesteatomeiterung mit Labyrinthfistel, einer sogar mit einer doppelten Fistel sowohl am horizontalen als auch am hinteren oberen Bogengang, der dritte litt an einer granulierenden Entzündung in der Pauke, und beim vierten fand sich ein grosses Paukencholesteatom mit Befall beider Fensternischen. Bei alien Patienten führten wir nach kurzer konservativer Vorbehandlung eine sanierende Ohroperation durch. In 1 Fall wurde intraoperativ das häutige Labyrinth eröffnet. Postoperativ kam es bei alien Patienten im Tonaudiogramm zu einer signifikanten Besserung der Innenohrleistung. Als Ursache der Hörverbesserung wird die Ausheilung einer serösen Labyrinthitis angenommen. Auf die Bedeutung einer präoperativen antibiotischen Behandlung zur Vermeidung einer Ausbreitung der Infektion zum Innenohr durch die chirurgischen Manipulationen wird hingewiesen.
