Der Zusammenhang zwischen den drei Typen des Nachnystagmus, dem postrotatorischen Nystagmus, dem optokinetischen Nachnystagmus und dem KopfschÜttelnystagmus, in bezug auf das RichtungsÜberwiegen wurde bei 26 Patienten mit Schwindelbeschwerden untersucht. Es ergab sich eine signifikante Korrelation zwischen KopfschÜttelnystagmus (Richtung und IntensitÄt) und postrotatorischem Nystagmus (Grad des RichtungsÜberwiegens), jedoch nicht zwischen KopfschÜttelnystagmus und optokinetischem Nachnystagmus. Unsere Daten lassen erkennen, dass der KopfschÜttelnystagmus fÜr die Entdeckung einer asymmetrischen vestibulÄren LÄsion nÜtzlich ist, dass jedoch zusÄtzliche Untersuchungen des postrotatorischen Nystagmus und optokinetischen Nachnystagmus erforderlich sind, um den vestibulÄren Status des Patienten zu erfassen.
