The European Retina Journal
Established since 1899, Ophthalmologica is a frequently cited guide to research in clinical and experimental ophthalmology with a large international circulation and international readership. It contains a selection of patient-oriented contributions covering the etiology of eye diseases, diagnostic techniques, and advances in medical and surgical treatment, with special emphasis on retinal diseases. In addition to original research, the journal regularly features timely reviews to help the readers stay up to date. Ophthalmologica is the official journal of the European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA).

After 7 years in the position, Professor Sebastian Wolf will step down as Editor-in-Chief of Ophthalmologica at the end of the year 2021 and we would like to thank him for his dedication to the journal in the last years. His successor is Professor from University Hospital Bern, Switzerland. He will already be the Handling Editor for all submissions as early as January the 1st.
