Mit Hilfe monoklonaler Antikörper wurden die Lymphozytensubpopulationen im Venenblut von 109 Patientinnen mit verschiedenen gynäkologischen Karzinomen und 92 Kontrollpersonen ohne maligne Erkrankungen charakterisiert, und durch mehrmalige Untersuchungen im Laufe eines Jahres wurde der Einfluß der Therapie untersucht. Vor Therapiebeginn zeigten sich geringfügige Unterschiede zwischen Patientinnen und Kontrollpersonen. Die Ausgangswerte der Lymphozyten und der OKT3-, OKT4-, OKT8- und OKMl-positiven Zellen waren in den Tumorstadien III und IV gegenüber den Stadien I und II signifikant erniedrigt. Die Bestrahlung bewirkte eine starke und lang anhaltende Reduktion fast aller lymphoiden Zellen. Bei Patientinnen mit ungünstigem Krankheitsverlauf (Tod oder Rezidiv) lagen vor Therapiebeginn signifikant niedrigere Werte der OKT3- und OKT8-positiven Zellen vor.
