Einleitung Das Wachstum normaler und transformierter Zellen wird in hohem Maße durch Signalfaktoren bestimmt, die die Akti-vität zellulärer Rezeptoren steuern. Über die Interaktion von Signalfaktoren und Rezeptoren werden intrazelluläre Signal-transduktionswege reguliert und Zellproliferation, Apoptose,Differenzierung und Adhäsion beeinflusst. Zu diesen Rezep-toren gehört die Familie der EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor), über die verschiedene Wachstums- und Über-lebenssignale vermittelt werden. Veränderungen in den Re-zeptoren der EGFR-Familie und den von ihnen beeinflussten Signalkaskaden spielen auch eine wichtige Rolle in der Onko-genese und bei der Tumorprogression. Substanzen, die spezi-fisch in die Signaltransduktion dieser Rezeptoren eingreifen,sind daher attraktive Optionen zur Hemmung des Tumor-wachstums.
