190 Ovarialkarzinome der Universitäts-Frauenklinik Marburg/Lahn, stationär behandelt im Zeitraum 1962 bis Juli 1976, wurden epide-miologisch analysiert. Dabei konnten bestimmte Risikofaktoren, die die Entstehung eines Ovarialkarzinoms zu begünstigen scheinen, er-mittelt werden. Frauen aus sozial bessergestellten Schichten, ohne oder aber mit mehr als 4 Kindern, mit einem kurzen Menarche-Meno-pause-Abstand, einer vorausgegangenen Beckenbestrahlung sowie nach erfolgter Appendektomie scheinen in dem Ovarialkarzinompa-tientinnengut Marburgs gehäuft vorzukommen. Patientinnen mit der Blutgruppe A waren häufiger, mit der Blutgruppe 0 seltener vertreten, als es der Normalverteilung entsprechen würde. Polypen des Corpus uteri waren oft dem Ovarialkarzinom vorausgegangen. Häufige Be-gleiterkrankungen waren Diabetes mellitus, Adipositas, Hypertonie und Varikosis. Viele Patientinnen hatten eine familiäre Krebsbelastung.
