In einzelnen Tumorsituationen haben vor allem das Interferon-alpha, so bei der Haarzelleukämie und bei der chronisch-myeloischen Leuk-ämie sowie bei dem benignen Larynx-Papillom, das der Klinik zur Verfügung stehende Therapierepertoire erheblich erweitern können. In der Mehrzahl von Tumorerkrankungen des Menschen stehen wir jedoch mit der Anwendung von Zytokinen noch am Beginn der Entwicklung neuer Therapiestrategien. Vorstellbar ist die Kombina-tion von Zytokinen mit zytotoxisch aktiven Substanzen, der Kombination von in vitro aktivierten T-Lymphozyten und NK-Zellen mit Zytokinen sowie die Anwendung von Zytokin-Cocktails. Aufgrund derzeit laufender klinischer Untersuchungen scheint ein vorsichtiger Optimismus gerechtfertigt, die für die Tumortherapie derzeit zur Verfügung stehenden Therapiemodalitäten erfolgreich zu erweitern.
