In the article “Factors Associated with Relapse of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus after Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy in Japanese Subjects: A Subgroup Analysis of J-SMART Study” [Obes Facts. 2023;16:119–130. https://doi.org/10.1159/000529546] by Watanabe et al., three references on page 121 were cited incorrectly. The initial citation for the diagnostic criteria of the Japan Diabetes Society, the citation for the diagnostic criteria of hypertension, and the citation for the diagnostic criteria of dyslipidemia were all incorrectly referenced. The sentence, “Diabetes was diagnosed according to the diagnostic criteria of the Japan Diabetes Society [20]; hypertension according to the Japanese Society of Hypertension [21]; dyslipidemia according to the Japan Atherosclerosis Society [22]; and OSAS according to the Japanese Respiratory Society [20],” should read as follows:

“Diabetes was diagnosed according to the diagnostic criteria of the Japan Diabetes Society [58]; hypertension according to the Japanese Society of Hypertension [59]; dyslipidemia according to the Japan Atherosclerosis Society [60]; and OSAS according to the Japanese Respiratory Society [20].”
