Des microinjections d’une solution contenant du 24Na et de I’inuline 14C ont été effectuées dans des anses capillaires de la papille du rein, chez le hamster en diurèse saline. L’excretion des indicateurs a été étudiée dans I’urine urétérale en fonction du temps. Dans les 16 expériences pratiquées on observe une excrétion de 24Na notable (en moyenne 6% de la dose), relativement constante et précédant I’excrétion d’inuline 14C; de plus, cette excrétion de 24Na est absente dans I’urine du rein controlatéral (3 expériences). L’excrétion de sodium observée traduit un passage direct à travers les parois d’un segment médullaire des néphrons possédant une très haute perméabilité au sodium; qualitativement, ces résultats permettent de localiser ce segment le long des anses de Henle (probablement leur segment grêle); quantitativement, ils semblent compatibles avec un échange complet entre les ions sodium de I’urine intratubulaire et du milieu interstitiel de la medulla.
