Abstract
A total of 720 umbilical cord blood samples have been tested by starch gel electrophoretic method for the occur rence of haemoglobin Barts which has actually been detected in eight cord blood samples. The higher castes appear to show a lower rate of incidence of haemoglobin Barts than the other castes.
