Fragestellung: Bei 90 Patientinnen mit nodal-negativem Mammakarzinom wurde die prognostische Bedeutung von S-Phasefraktion (SPF) und MIB1-Proliferationsrate (MIB1-PR) nach einer mittleren Nachbeobachtungszeit von 34 Monaten (9–72) verglichen. Methode: An parallel geschnittenen, formalinfixierten Paraffinschnitten wurde SPF durchfluβzytometrisch und MIB1 (Ki-67) immunhistochemisch bestimmt. Ergebnisse: SPF korrelierte signifikant mit Tumorgröβe und Steroidhormonrezeptorstatus, MIB1-PR mit Tumorgrading. In der Univarianzanalyse waren SPF und MIB1-PR signifikante Prognosefaktoren für das rezidivfreie Überleben. In der Multivarianzanalyse war SPF jedoch der einzig statistisch signifikante Prognosefaktor, MIB1-PR und etablierte Prognosefaktoren blieben hier ohne signifikante Bedeutung. Schluβfolgerung: Die durchfluβzytometrisch bestimmte S-Phasefraktion war in dieser Studie prognostisch bedeutender als die immunhistochemisch ermittelte MIB1-Proliferationsrate und scheint für die klinische Anwendung beim nodal-negativen Mammakarzinom besser geeignet.
