Zwischen der 20. und der 40. Schwangerschaftswoche wurden bei unauffálligen Schwangerschaften nach Einstellung des Fünfkammerblicks und der kurzen Achse Messungen an den Semilunarklappen des fetalen Herzens vorgenommen. Unter Anwendung der Cine-loop- und der Zoom-Technik wurden die Durchmesser der Aorten- und Pulmonalklappe (n = 157) gemessen und daraus die Pulmonalis/Aorta-Ratio errechnet. Von den beiden gemessenen Parametern wurden Normkurven in Korrelation zum Gestationsalter mit Referenzbereichen erstellt. Beide Gefásse zeigten einen linearen Anstieg während der Schwangerschaft (Aorta r = 0,87, Truncus pulmonalis r = 0,91). Die Truncus pulmonalis/Aorta-Ratio blieb dagegen konstant und betrug 1,25 im beobachteten Zeitraum. Bei 128 Feten wurde zusätzlich die Herzbreite gemessen und die Gefássdurchmesser als Funktion der Herzbreite dargestellt.
