The 40th meeting of the International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society (IFMSS), held in the historical city of Visby and the vibrant capital of Stockholm, marked an extraordinary milestone for our community. This prestigious event brought together 275 delegates – 205 scientific participants and 66 accompanying members – from 26 different countries, highlighting the truly global nature of our society.
Over the course of this remarkable meeting, we witnessed 132 insightful presentations and reviewed 160 abstract submissions, showcasing the latest advancements and innovations in fetal medicine and surgery. The enthusiasm and collaborative spirit among attendees underscored the importance of fostering scientific exchange to address the challenges and opportunities in our field. The meeting began in the medieval surroundings of Visby, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its rich history and breathtaking views, offering a unique and inspiring atmosphere for scientific discussion. From there, delegates moved to the dynamic and cosmopolitan city of Stockholm, where the program reached its crescendo. The meeting culminated in a truly unforgettable Nobel Grand Finale, celebrating not only scientific excellence but also the camaraderie and shared vision that define IFMSS.
