Abstract
The mode of histamine action on the enzyme reaction catalyzed by ceruloplasmin (CPL) and the histamine-binding power of CPL have been studied. The result from the kinetic study (enzyme-substrate saturation curves of purified, native and denatured CPL, Km, etc.)carried out with a spectrophotometric method demonstrated a positive heterotrope effect of histamine concerning the velocity of the enzyme reaction. The manner of the interaction between histamine and CPL was studied by physicochemical methods (electron paramagnetic resonance, method of histamine binding before and after treatment of CPL with chelating agents). The data obtained have shown a nonenzymatic nature of CPL-histamine binding.
