Article Collection: Enhancing Ethnocultural Diversity and Under-Represented Groups in Dementia Research

Alzheimer’s disease involves a multitude of risk and protective factors encompassing genetics and lived experiences. Ethnoculturally diverse individuals from under-represented groups (URGs), including Black/African American and Hispanic/Latinx individuals, are disproportionally affected by Alzheimer’s disease and have low participation rates in clinical trials. Recognizing the gap in communication that exists between minority populations and Alzheimer’s disease research community, education and outreach are a critical step in addressing these disparities. This collection collates articles that have been specially invited by our Editor-In-Chief Associate Professor John B Kwok and further relevant contributions to Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders.
