Progress in Basic and Clinical Pharmacology

This series focuses on the basic and clinical pharmacology of new, pending and established drugs and their therapeutic use. The fundamental mechanisms of action of drugs are discussed in relation to the pathogenesis of the diseases for which they are indicated. Each volume is edited by experts on the specific topic who select the individual contributors. As the dates of introduction of new drugs vary widely between different countries, there may be a considerable body of valuable clinical experience already existing at the time a compound is first introduced to a particular market. By selecting authors from around the world, such information is made widely available.
