Biochemische Vorgänge können auch biophysikalisch betrachtet werden. Daher gehen auch strukturelle und funktionelle Besonderheiten in bioelektrische Messergebnisse ein. Akupunkturpunkte unterscheiden sich sowohl strukturell als auch funktionell von «indifferenten» Hautarealen. Sie sind infolge ihrer Struktur spezifisch befähigt, über Matrix, Vasomotoren und Muskulatur mit dem übrigen Organismus zu kommunizieren. Informationen aus diesem metamer regulatorischen Komplex ändern ihre Funktion und damit auch ihre Messwerte. Nach unseren Untersuchungen werden die Messergebnisse unter dem Einfluss von zusätzlichen Störgrössen, wie Elektroreizen und Orthostase, signifikant. Die Differenzbildung ist ein weiteres Symptom der regulatorischen Desintegration, die schon im Begriff der Headschen Zonen gegeben ist und die auch an anderen klinischen Parametern nachweisbar ist. Regulatorische Desintegration bedeutet, dass der normalerweise gekoppelte homogene Ablauf der Reiz-Reaktions-Funktion unter dem Einfluss lokaler Belastungen entkoppelt wird.
