Abstract
Von 1976 bis 1990 wurden 2916 Kinder mit 3373 Leistenbrüchen nach der Methode von Czerny operiert. 72,4% dieses Krankengutes wurden nachuntersucht. Die eigenen Ergebnisse – mittlere Nachbeobachtungszeit 6,8 Jahre – zeigen mit 0,4% Leistenbruchrezidiven, 0,6% sekundärem Hodenhochstand und 0,3% Hodenatrophien im Literaturvergleich den hohen Stellenwert der kindgerechten Czerny-Methode. In der Literatur wie im eigenen Krankengut (6,8%) liegt die Häufigkeit einer späteren Kontralateralhernie zwischen 2,1 und 14,9%. Wir verzichten daher auf eine Simultanoperation der Gegenseite auβer bei frühgeborenen Kindern mit einseitiger Bruchmanifestation im 1. Trimenon.
