In dieser Übersicht werden die 3 häufigsten postoperativen Komplikationen nach Kolonresektion und deren Management behandelt. Die häufigste Komplikation ist eine Infektion im Bereich der Operationswunde. Vor deren Behandlung muss auch eine intraabdominelle Ursache in Betracht gezogen werden. Die zweithäufigste Komplikation ist die Anastomoseninsuffizienz, an deren Entstehung sowohl technische als auch dispositionelle Faktoren beteiligt sind. Des Weiteren treten nach Kolonresektion Blutungskomplikationen auf, die sich sowohl intra- als auch extraluminal manifestieren können. Alle genannten Komplikationen können häufig nur durch einen erneuten operativen Eingriff therapiert werden.
