Eine retrospektive Analyse aller femoropoplitealen und tibialen PTFE-Bypässe ergab bei 667 Rekonstruktionen über dem Kniegelenk eine Durchgängigkeitsrate von 87% nach einem Jahr, 52% nach 5 Jahren und 37% nach 10 Jahren. Die Durchgängigkeitsrate der 211 kniegelenksüberschreitenden Rekonstruktionen betrug 70% nach einem Jahr, 32% nach 5 Jahren und 27% nach 8 Jahren. Die tibialen Rekonstruktionen (78 Eingriffe) hatten eine Durchgängigkeitsrate von fast 68% nach einem Jahr und 28% nach 5 Jahren. Eine Analyse der Rekonstruktionen oberhalb des Kniegelenkes ergab nur einen Unterschied im Vergleich zu den Patientengruppen mit Claudicatio und Erhaltung der Extremität und den Gruppen mit gutem und schlechtem Run-off. Alle anderen Parameter zeigten keine signifikanten Unterschiede. Nach 5 Jahren konnte bei 83% der Patienten die Extremität erhalten werden und nach 10 Jahren bei 74%. Nach 5 Jahren zeigten sich signifikante Unterschiede in der Erhaltungsrate in bezug auf das präoperative Stadium und den Run-off.
