An increase of the blood coagulability has been demonstrated in normal dogs repeatedly bled (100 cc every 2 days for 10 days). This increase was characterized by the Howell time curtailing, increase of the thrombelastogram maximum amplitude and increase in the number of platelets. Analogous modifications have been found in normal dogs in the first 24 hours after the transfusion of plasma from bled dogs. An attempt was made to transfer the hypercoagulability of animals (dogs) and human beings treated with AGTH in other animals (dogs) and human beingsithe experiments have not been successful. The results are discussed with reference to the humoral factors which excite the blood coagulability during transfusion and to the neurohormonal regulation of the blood coagulation.
