Als Einstieg stellen wir den Textanfang zur Verfügung.Der Vortragszyklus aus Anlass des 50jährigen Bestehens des C.G.-Jung-Instituts findet an der Eidgenössisch-Technischen Hochschule statt, und ich freue mich, aus eben diesem Anlass und an eben diesem Ort über die wichtigen Fragen von Entwicklung und Erziehung aus tiefenpsychologischer Sicht sprechen zu dürfen. Für einmal ist nicht das Zusammentreffen in der Zeit, die Synchronizität, sondern das Zusammentreffen am Ort dabei einiger Überlegung wert, leistet doch die ETH als Ort zentraler Bildung und Forschung einen wesentlichen Beitrag sowohl zur Erziehung junger Menschen in deren individuellen Wünschen und Möglichkeiten als auch zur innovativ-technischen Entwicklung von unserm kollektiven Fortschritt. Die Bedeutung des in der Bezeichnung selbst fungierenden Terminus des «Technischen» ist für unsere Zeit nicht zu übersehen: Technik bestimmt nicht nur in ihren angestammten Bereichen unsere Alltagsrealität, entscheidet im globalen Wettbewerb über Gewinn und Verlust, sondern dringt in immer mehr, immer weitere Bereiche des Lebens ein. Im Zusammenhang damit drängen sich auch unabdingbar scheinende Konsequenzen für die Erziehung auf: Nicht nur Information, sondern Informatik soll immer mehr und immer früher unsere Kinder auf die anzutreffende gesellschaftliche Realität vorbereiten.
