I was introduced to Karger through my work with the International Association of Communication Sciences and Disorders. I was the lead author of Fast Facts in Dementia and Augmentative and Alternative communication.
Karger was the most supportive publishing house and editorial team. They set realistic deadlines, were flexible when we were somewhat delayed, and answered all our questions quickly. We felt very supported throughout the whole publication process. Karger was also open to suggestions for additional materials, e.g., they embraced our idea of a freely downloadable poster to go along with the book. Karger was one of the first publishers MALMAD signed a Read & Publish agreement with. We were very pleased to renew our Read & Publish agreement with Karger for three more years, covering costs for Israeli researchers at participating institutions to publish an unlimited number of Open Access articles in Karger’s journals both Hybrid and Gold, whilst also giving them reading access. Our continuous cooperation with Karger is an important step in the transition to Open Access.
